In case u have forgotten Milton every or almost 90% of people who came to this country in the last century came here illegally. The difference is that they were given an opportunity to get legal status (laws were more flexible)

Same as today most of illegal immigrants came here legally trough visas and work permits but because they were not given that opportunity to get legal status is that they remain illegally in this country. By the way most of them pay taxes and dont get nothing in return in hope that someday they will get legal status.

A few came here totally illegally from sea or from mexico. That in comparison with the totality that came legally but got their time expired.
