thanks for writing such a nice essay on the Slope's architecture. I have lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and never tire of looking at all the lovely homes and apt. buildings imagining the fine interiors I know so many have. I live in a building that, sad to say, went up after a trio of mansions were torn down on Plaza St. West, but even my building has it's pleasantries. There is one regret I have though, the prices have driven out my economic strata. There has been a huge influx of wealthy, SUV and BMW driving types that have a certain "entitlement" air about them making the neighborhood less interesting and congenial. Where do all these people come from that have so much money? They have taken over Manhattan and now they are taking over here. This is not "progress" in my book.
