Once again incorrect. Thereis no law "forcing" journalists to go through this school.
My own father works as a journalist, and although he has been to the school in question he only went for one year. He never completed the school and still has been working as a journalist for most of his professional life. I myself have been working at several media producers (no not with media, I am a system developer) and I've known lots of people working as journalists that didnt come into the profession this way. I still however agree with you that media in Sweden is biased to the left. But once again, the claim that ALL media in Sweden would be so is, once again, incorrect. I should also point out that I myself is a liberal and strongly believe Sweden needs to be liberalised, less political, get a more open market and so on. The change in government this last election is one step on the way but nowhere near enough.

Sadly, they are not. Bawer is using Interpol's statistics. Interpol (for reasons best known to itself) lumps together murder and ATTEMPTED murder under the heading "murder".

In 2001 Sweden had 10,01 murder + attepted murder per 100.000 inhabitants. USA had 5,7 murder + attepted murder per 100.000 inhabitants (the same year).

Sweden has now (2005) notched up its figure for murder + attempted murder per 100.000 inhabitants to 11 (I do not have the 2005 figure for USA)."

In fact, Interpol themselfes had errors in their data, errors that was also passed on in an article in the Economist and perhaps other media as well I should assume.

The figure is, simply put, incorrect.
The figures for 2005 I dont know about, since I haven't seen them.

Well. You can call it what you want. Noone forces anyone to stay in Sweden, but most people just dont want to return to war, famine and whatever.

There are big problems. But you can look at them in different ways. Your solution is to send people that we actually need in our workforce home. My solution is to work on integration, get people out of subsidies and into work, make sure people start studying Swedish directly on arrival to Sweden and so on. I blame the social democrats for our almost complete lack of integration. You blame the refugees that end up here. A matter of choice in how you look at people and the world I assume.
