Rice: Kurd Rebels 'Common Threat'

Recently the meanings of some words are so much twisted depends on the situation our future generations may make mistakes. The best example is the word of REBEL. It is so frequently misused instead of the word of TERRORIST in the news about PKK (which some people even think that it is a party since the name was given as party) Here is a small quiz. Please read the word of rebel as terrorist for not to mistake.

1 Who were the rebels against Germany

Answer: Baader Meinhof Gang

2 Who were the rebels against Spain

Answer: Red Brigades Basque ETA

3 Who were the rebels against Greece

Answer: Revolutionary People's Struggle ELA

4 Who were the rebels against Israel

Answer: Palestine Liberation Organization PLO

5 Who were the rebels against England

Answer: Irish Republican Army IRA

6 Who were the rebels against Japan

Answer: Japanese Red Army JRA

I thought that all the members of these organizations were terrorists since they killed so many civilians. How come PKK members are not terrorist but rebel after causing 30000 peoples death since early 1980s according to all CNN BBC Reuter. Please correct me if I am making a mistake.
