Thank you, City Council, for finally taking action on this. We have a number of pernicious pigeon feeders on my block, and they just won't stop despite polite requests. Pigeons are destroying the public school, which was just renovated at an expense of over a million dollars in taxpayer money, and the droppings are everywhere. Dust, asthma, droppings, health hazards, yuck. Kids can't walk on the street or go in the yard.

The birds, per se, are not the problem, it's the feeders who attract them and support overpopulation. The police, sanitation department, and health department say there's little or nothing they can do unless they directly observe a pigeon feeder creating an obvious rodent habitat, and even then the penalty is merely a small fine. Please, please, please take prompt action to make a forceful law, it's many years overdue!
