The system by which the two main parties nominate Presidential candidates is badly broken. Iowa surely is more representative of a majority of the country than New Hampshire, though its caucuses do not present the best way to express the sentiments of the state. And New Hampshire is not a microcosm of the national electorate. That candidates should have to spend a year going into neighborhood living rooms, reading to first graders in schols, eating breakfast at certain designated campaign stops, etc. to satisfy the egos of a few score thousand self important New England egotists who consider themselves the arbiters of presidential elections is insufferable.
No matter which candidate emerges as the choice of Iowa or New Hampshire, the rest of the country should take the results with at most two grains of salt. The changes in state primary dates may at least break up the atificial gravitas which has been attached to these two early "elections" for the past couple decades.
