Pinocchio, Tom Sawyer Now Muslim In New Turkish Versions of Classics

Submitted by Luigi Tommasino, Nov 13, 2007 13:31

The web site (www.pinocchioamarcord.it ) presents Pinocchio (a symbol of childhood) sculptured in wood of olive trees (symbol of peace) from MonteCassino by Franco Viola, whose childhood was destroyed since, as a child, he was living in the Monte Cassino area during the second world war. This is a message of peace for the children from all over the world, who suffer in war and peace. The story of Pinocchio is the same of many Mediterranean and/or mythological stories of speaking trees, and belongs to the children from all over the world. Pinocchio is very able to be everything and thus he is can be a great Muslim.

The cardinal Biffi from Bologna claims that the story of Pinocchio is the bible of the childhood. He is son of a carpenter, he resurrect after death, etc.

Alexej Tolstoy changed the original story of Pinocchio to educate the children to the communism. The communist Pinocchio has been read from different generations of children from the Communist countries (Eastern Europe, Russia, China, Vietnam, etc..), and other Asian nations including India.

Pinocchio Capitalist has been made by Walt Disney, which has been published in almost all the countries . By contrast with all other Pinocchios, who come from the creative fantasy of the best artists, the Walt Disney Pinocchio is always the same since the first time he was created in 1940. This Pinocchio represents the best global success prior to the McDonald and can only be referred to as the capitalist Pinocchio.

In our permanent exhibition in Italy (south of Rome: 26 km from Monte Cassino) together with the Pinocchio sculptures from the wood of olive trees, we have the most ambitious world-wide collection of Pinocchio books (including books in Latin, in many disappearing languages such as Gaelic, etc) just to promote the message that Pinocchio belongs to all children. It is within these capacities that we greatly welcome the Muslim Pinocchio. We would be proud if our permanent exhibition could be enriched with this new book, which deserves the best place in our museum shelves.

We would very much appreciate meeting this great Muslim Pinocchio.
