Why Reagan Deserves Benefit of Doubt on Racism

Submitted by Doug, Nov 14, 2007 16:31

Paul Krugman started this feud about Reagan and it's understandable. If I was a member of a Party which hadn't produced a "great" President since FDR and Truman, I may be bitter, too. Krugman tries in futility to tear Reagan down every opportunity he gets yet Reagan's stature continues to increase among historians. Even Clinton placed Reagan among the top 10 greatest Presidents.

I enjoy reading Krugman as he's interesting and intelligent. Why he continues to fight this old battle over the Reagan legacy is beyond me. I think he would better serve his liberal cause if he looked ahead rather than behind.
