Mariano Rivera has been my favorite Yankee for some time now, but you are absolutely correct. He is not as valuable as Posada. i don't know why Rivera thinks the Dodgers would sign him for the price he wants.Who knows how much better Mo is than Saito ?. Starting with Luis Arroyo(1961 season) I've seen some great Yankee relievers. I know the criteria has changed but it really comes down to Gossage Lyle and Rivera. I'll still take Mariano but not at the current asking price.

Congratulatons on the Stengel book-best one I've read on "The Old Professor"
