Decline of Upward Mobility

The many relevant points you mention will never get an airing on the shows that toe the line for conservatism. The Reagan Revolution, its purpose and outcome was right for the times. Education and portability are essentials for the 21st century. We are already in an Oligarchy with a privileged path for the offspring of the well to do. Redfistribution of wealth is not the answer. Providing incentives and rewards for educational success, as opposed to pricing college out of the market is important. Having the middle class realize that portability in pursuit of employment (as in moving to where the opportunities are) is also (unfortunately) a part of our 21st century reality.
