Dear Families of those honored on the "Wall", fellow Vietnam Veterans and your respective families, and fellow citizens. I am Ray Saikus and quoted in the USA November 12 article "New controversy at Vietnam memorial". I lost my best friend, a Marine, in Vietnam and I served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam between Oct 1968 and September 1969. The USA article did not have the space to do justice to the issues surrounding the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Visitor Center (VVMVC) nor about another intrusion on the sacred space of the "Wall", the United Institute of Peace (USIP) . I would encourage you to visit the Equal Honor For All organization website (www.equalhonor.org) and start by clicking on "Defend the Wall". Then click on Equal Honor For All on the home page to learn of our involvement since May of 2006. The "Wall" is timeless and those who we remember on it will always embrace those who visit in a way that they will never forget. If a man or woman or child who visits the wall has a heart and a soul, they will be moved as long as we protect the "Wall" setting from being distracted by anyone trying to define its meaning and its surroundings. Be the voices for those who no longer have a voice or a choice. Visit the links provided to learn and form your own opinion. We believe that you will echo our message to honor and remember all of our veterans together, with Equal Honor For All, at the proposed National Military Honor and Service Museum in Washington DC but not next to this sacred place.
