The Lebanese people and some of their leaders are trying to avoid future armed conflicts which only complicates the Arab Israeli problem. They are also trying to consolidate their democracy through peaceful and democratic means. This is sometimes complicated by foreign neighbours interference.
However we've read many articles in the press saying Lebanon is doomed to go, this has been heard for the past 33 years, the Lebanese has faced and overcame much more difficult situations thanks to their will . I think that democracy is a value adopted by all the Lebanese political parties including the most extremists. The U.S. and Western democracies understand this reality and are sincerely interested in helping Lebanon face the threats of its hostile neighbours.
