I don't see what there is to be thankful for. The world owes NOTHING to America. The world would be so much better off if America never existed, and everyone obviously knows it. There is a reason why 90% of the world hates Americans. You cannot ignore such huge numbers. No nation has done more to harm the environment and to harm people of all walks of life, especially minorities — slavery, massive hate crimes, poor people without health care or food (was Katrina just a Hollywood movie????), than America. It has grown out of blood lust and greed. It is scurge upon humanity; and now America must atone for its crimes. The world will not allow a nation with so much blood on its hands continue to kill and brutalise so many innocent people across the globe. Steyn needs a wake up call. He is living in a post-1950 fantasy era in which he thinks the sun rises and sets on America. America is not the center of the universe, and it never was. We understand history now more than ever. What we thought was America were lies. America is a killing machine that gobbles up everything in a thirst for power and money. It's entire existence is a sham, and the world knows it.
