U.S. Raids Issuer of Ron Paul Coins

Submitted by FM Duck, Nov 19, 2007 21:02

Freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of trade, & all other freedoms obtained a priori to the existence of the U.S. Constitution were squashed this week by the Gestapo-like raid of FBI and Secret Service agents as they illegally confiscated the private property of the Liberty Dollars, gold, silver, platinum, mint equipment, and all computer and manual records at Norfed. Pay close attention Americans. FDR stole our parents' gold coins and now they are stealing Norfed's medallions. Better shut your mouth or they will steal your gold crowns.

Was this mainly a political-inspired raid or a monetary raid? Or both?

At its fundamental premises, this is no different than one political party using the govt to break into the offices of the supporters of its political opponents and confiscate all their campaign literature. The fact that the literature was written on heavy metal does not change the argument. It is patently unconstitutional and if the holders of Liberty Dollar I.O.U.s do not sue the government and make a big stink about it, then you deserve to live in chains.

Note that if gold and silver have no value as money in today's Quantitative Economics and the Federal Reserve claims it is not suitable for circulation as U.S. money, then why are they afraid of the Liberty Dollar? This is the first time I have witnessed in my lifetime a government complaining that gold and silver coins, the Liberty Dollar, are unfairly circulating against the government's Cupro-Nickel coins or that a private warehouse issues mercantile receipts 100% redeemable for the goods, the gold or silver. This is backwards reasoning and should tell you something. All Americans should be complaining the other way around: i.e., Cupro-nickel coins circulating as debased currency, pretending to obtain value by virtue of being stamped at a U.S. Mint. Same for U.S. Fed Reserve Notes which are printed at 3-cents per bill no matter what the denomination and not backed by anything except hot air. Historical revolutions have been fought over less.

If Americans want to really participate in real U.S. Money, log onto the U.S. Mint Web Site or run down to your nearest coin shop and buy as many gold and silver bullion coins you can afford. The U.S. Mint has been minting American Eagle bullion sets -- not just proof coins, but bullion coins at nearly spot price -- and Buffalo 1 troy oz gold bullion coins since 1986 and they ARE legal tender. Go do it. Empty the vaults at the Federal Reserve.
