Poll: Support For Congestion Pricing Falling

Submitted by DCB, Nov 19, 2007 21:52

It's good to hear our tax and fine mayor's "plan" to help alleviate congestion and "reduce" emissions is losing steam. To me it was yet another gross robbing of New Yorkers on a few different levels. Sure the city yanks $8 per car entering, but for those outside New York who haven't figured it out, there is the bordering borough of Brooklyn, i.e., Williamsburg, that has just suffered a massive residential building glut allowed by the city but, oops, didn't allocate anything for parking for these massive buildings. As the city refuses to grant residential stickers for those living here, it opens up what is left of the alternate side parking for Long Islander's trolling for parking near the L,J, M and Z lines. Coupled with throwing up no parking from 8-6 over the already uncleaned but still ticketed alternate side parking signs, these neighborhoods are ripe for the Bloomberg's ticket patrols to hand out what amounts to hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tickets per month, just in this neighborhood alone. I've always thought this mayor wouldn't be here if it weren't for Guilliani's endorsement immediately after 9/11 and am looking forward to the next election, with prejudice...
