Is Mr. Lehman trying to change the museum experience into something that will appeal to the crowd because of its style (e.g., excitement and color) as opposed to its substance?
Is he becoming the Warhol of the museum world as he creates a larger audience that is "...now a different public -- larger, to be sure, but less serious, less introspective, less willing or able to distinguish between achievement and its trashy simulacrum"?:
