Be very careful of the 'past' it was not as rosey as many think it was. There were many social problems, especially within so called stable families.
I'm also leery of any argument that advances a cause based on this illusion. Speaking as Father, and Grandfather, one of my Grandchildren is being raised by my daughter and her girlfriend. This Granddaughter, of who I very proud, is stable, happy and accepts everyone for who they are, not what is thought they should be. How many of us can say that about our children or Grandchildren?
Besides, this is the way that society is now, so why not look at the future and stop looking at the imaginary past? and who is next in the sights for being the wrong sort to be parents?
