I am happy to finally see some (mild) criticism of Mark Steyn's AMERICA ALONE. Mark has mentioned that he has been surprised by the lack of counterpoint, so far, for the book. In fact, it is from SteynOnline.com where I was steered to your review. Mark enjoys the challenges, which makes him reconsider and test his viewpoints more effectively.

As a matter of fact, your review has helped me to more succinctly understand some basic points written by Steyn, especially about white guilt/multicuturalism. I have it organized better in my head, after reading your review. So thanks for that.

But! You do have a couple of items which need corrrecting.

Australia is the other country, not Israel, which AMERICA ALONE focuses on, in-depth, as being the last hope for Western Civilization against the Muslim threat.

Also, when you write that Europe is 430 million strong against 20 million Muslims, which will take at least two hundred years to overtake, you miss one of the points of AMERICA ALONE. The Muslims do not need to equal the number 430 million, they merely need sufficient, critical mass to become a significantly sized MINORITY group in Europe, (which they are NOW a minority group, but not sufficiently sized to take over, quite yet). They have already made a significant menacing threat in France, and at this rate it will be more like 20 years, not 200, before the younger generation of Muslim youths achieve a quantity sufficient to raise Cain against the same generation of the white Europeans.

Mark Steyn has said in interviews that Europe does not have the stomach to fight back. In Holland, (even after the Theo van Gogh murder by a Muslim youth), a white, native politician has publically stated that he would not mind living under Sharia Law if that is what the majority of Dutch citizens voted for! Contrast that to a politician in Australia, who says if the Muslims want to live under Sharia Law, this is the way to the airport, and you're not going to do it in Australia. (Please contact SteynOnline for the exact names, which I am pretty sure they will be glad to provide, especially in light of your review for AMERICA ALONE.)
