Reader comment on:
Death of a (Toilet Paper) Salesman

Submitted by Rose L. Tynes, Nov 24, 2007 10:23

As a reader of your newspaper, I was taken aback by the comments printed regarding your column on Dick Wilson's death. The fact that they were all made by the same person was also surprising. After reading them I was further disturbed by their tone.

In the annals of the advertising world "Mr. Whipple" and his "Please don't Squeeze the Charmin" rates right up there with "Time to Make the Donuts," and "We make Money the Old Fashion Way....We Earn It!"

And yet, you print these comments by this Mr. Hughes, which clearly hold this American Icon up to ridicule.

How very short-sited of you and your newspaper.
