Annan's L'Envoi

I am far from a right-winger, but they are right on this one, "Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US". The United Nations, like the League of Nations, is a dismal failure and dangerous besides. The UN should be relegated to what it does best, and successfully, act as a humanitarian service to people's and nations in need of assistance. This body smacks of the one world policy, which all of US should cringe at even the slightest notion of achieving. The UN should have absolutely no say in the internal politics or foreign policy of any of it's member nations. It is simply a debating society. To think that Kofi allowed the turmoil in Africa resulitng in the deaths of millions, is just the tip of the iceberg of that bodies horrible failures. If the UN had it's way, little democratic Israel (one of the few democracies in it's membership), would cease to exist. If that became a reality, does anyone believe the neighboring Arab counties would allow a Shite Hamas or Hezbollah to confiscate all the Jewish assets for themselves Come on, give me break. As in Iraq, the country would be torn apart, piece by piece, with the stronger army getting the spoils. It's unfortunate that Bolton resigned under pressure. He was one of the truly shining lights in this dark hell of a place. My goal is to see the US stop any further contributions to it.
