Olmert blew it all in the summer of 2006. He had the historic opportunity to take out Hezbollah with the full backing of the US and he blinked. Bush discovered had no real partner on the war on the global jihad and nothing has been the same. Olmert (and by extension Israel) is reaping what he sowed. It ain't good. No one wanted a cowboy? Cowards is what they got.
Israel must deal with the existential threats threatening her and not rely on the US and her hostile Arab neighbors to guarantee Israel's security. That's the bottom line and seemingly lost on the weakest Israeli leaders the country has ever produced.
