Over 50 pedicabs (tricycles) and pedalcabs (bicycle-drawn trailer-cabs) serve downtown Orlando, Florida. The City Commission is now reconsidering its second draft of a bike-cab ordinance; it is needed.
I own and operate a pedalcab in Orlando and in the International Drive resort district; I have a perfect safety record and in Florida's flat terrain have found no need for extra rear brakes. Many trike cabs also operate safely without the need for additional rear braking systems. I continue to assist the police legal advisor and City Commission in writing a sensible ordinance for Orlando bicycle cabs.
