The Sun's "expose" of Senator Clinton's early connection to a left-wing law firm is a classic red-baiting smear that is instantly familiar to anyone who has a glancing acquaintance with the bad old days of the 1950's and worthy of Senator McCarthy, Shame!
Perhaps the more judicious of the Bush Presidents chose not to exploit Clinton's connection to the law firm of Treuhaft, Walker and Burnstein out of some principle of civilized discourse. As our public life continues to degenerate apace, President H.W. Bush appears almost reasonable. The Sun's ugly foray into innuendo but hastens that sad demise.
