The first Ten Amendments to the Constitution are restrictions on government; they do not "give" you anything. The issues they address were considered "God given" by the Founding Fathers and could not be given or taken away by government.
Any candidate that believes there is "wiggle room" to alter (or better stated "infringe on" ) any of the first Ten Amendments should not even be considered. If we cannot keep the first Ten Amendments in tact with their original meaning in place we are doomed as a republic."

100% correct. The Second Amendment is not about self defense or hunting, it is about protecting ourselves from the government...the most important check and balance we could ever have and an absolutely necessary one. That is why some government officials are FOR gun control, without it, THE PEOPLE are in control, which is how the framers of the Constitution intended it to be.
