let's sell all their primes for Santana's decline! Why did the lefty Pedro shelf his slider during his unusually bad for him second half? And is that why he gave up so many homers? And don't you think that the lessons learned by the abuse Wood and others have suffered has informed the Yanks' treatment of young pitchers? It has, and we don't yet know how more careful treatment will change the incidence of injury, but you'd have to assume it will be by a bunch. Oh and go a baseball_reference.com and look at Santana most similars. They were all done in their early 30's. It's probably better to wait and see if he ever becomes a free agent, then trading a ton of cheap innings over the next 6 years for one guy who turns into a pumpkin after 100 pitches every 5th day.
