For once, a Democrat I can actually respect. Mr Benjamin is a very refreshing change from most Democrats. Maybe the Howard Dean-Nancy Pelosi-Harry Reid leadership could stand to emulate his example and get back to truly working FOR the people. He reminds me of the Kennedy-Johnson era Democrats, before they started going radical, and certainly before adopting principles of irrational partisan hatred. Jack and Bobby Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson are smiling upon him from Heaven.

For that matter, some of the Republicans need to study his example too --- and implement that into THEIR daily activities. Maybe if they started getting more attuned to their base as well there wouldn't be so many folks contemplating alternative parties.

What this country needs is a couple thousand more folks like Mr Benjamin in EVERY party in order to bring back the dignity and respect to politics, to get rid of the hatred and quest for power that pervades the whole process, especially on the Democratic side of the spectrum.
