I agree with this article. It's refreshing to read such comments about the relevance of '70s science fiction to today's world and about their effectiveness as filmic art. I saw all the movies mentioned in the article, except for "Transformers", a film I may not even watch when it finally airs on cable TV next year. Heck, I'm not even going to buy it on DVD. "2001: A Space Odyssey" is my all-time personal favorite film. I thoroughly enjoyed the first "Planet of the Apes" with Charlton Heston as well as "Soylent Green" and even "Outland" with Sean Connery. I bought "Logan's Run" on DVD since I missed its theatrical run in the '70s. "Blade Runner" is another personal favorite.
