Sell the Whole Farm for Santana

are you kidding me? seriously? you're in the sports business and this is the article that you choose to write? all I can say is that is that's the worst choice the yankees could make at this point. johan is 29 and rarely does a high paid ace works out after a trade (by the end of the contract that he is proposing that would make him 35). and why wouldn't he just wait for free agency and not deplete the pitching of the team that he is going to? you can get 10ish years out of each one of these kids and you are paying them so little that even if one of them fail you aren't losing too much, you can just drop them down to AAA.... here's the thing. who doesn't want santana? duh, everyone wants him, and he's going to look really good in pinstripes one day. there really is no reason to push this, and thankfully they didn't because now the twins have a center fielder which means they aren't hurting for a trade - melky is safe from the twins (even though he wasn't one of the players we couldn't live without). So keep the three kids and write a fat check from mr. steinbrenner to santana for the '09 season. then regardless of whether or not andy comes back we still have a deep rotation. the end, problem solved.
