Stanford's Catch-22

What an atrocious policy. I can only hope this article skewed the University's position. But having seen the uproar over the Rumsfeld appointment at the Hoover Institution and the barbaric attempt to prevent George Bush from visiting the University, unfortunately I cannot honestly say that this community is above this kind of McCarthyism.

The only thing more disappointing than the Law School's lack of respect for the law in this case is its lack of respect for its students. These are adults. Are Stanford Law students really such thugs that they need to be prevented from talking to potential employers? Are they such imbeciles that they can't decide for themselves whether they want to work for the military? These actions speak volumes about administrative arrogance, the problem of a community becoming mindlessly ideological and the constant risk of tyranny of the masses.
