A Third Term May Glimmer for Mayor

Bloomberg is really just a slicker version of Rudy Giuliani -- he's much better at marketing than Giuliani ever was. But the reality is, he is implementing similiarly anti-poor strategies that Giuliani did. Look at the homeless population: It's actually worse today than it ever was under Giuliani. Bloomberg has helped usher through land-grabs of monumental proportions: the new Yankee Stadium and the West Side stadium (thankfully DOA after residents organized against it), and money grabs. The big corporations love Bloomberg for all the tax breaks they get. There is not a development project Bloomberg doesn't like, no matter what it will do to a community. Bloomberg's like a lot of businessmen: Interested only in money and with little or no real appreciation for history or art or culture. He's a lout. He's just much better than Giuliani ever was at packaging himself as something else.
