Pastor's Invitation to Clinton Draws Fire From Some Christians

Submitted by J Krangar, Nov 29, 2007 13:18

I hope that all of the Evangelical Christains are reading the same "Holy Bible" that all Christains like myself read; Tthe bible says;

Luke 6:37
[ Judging Others ] "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Luke 6:36-38 (in Context) Luke 6 (Whole Chapter)

Matthew 9:10-12

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?" On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice." For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

We all are God's children no matter what our views are politically. I'm a Barack Obama supporter but will not condemn Senator Clinton because she believes in pro-choice. How many committees do the Evangelical churches have at these abortion clinics preaching the gospel to these people and volunteering to take care of the unborn babies? Please tell me, how many committees in their churches are discussing with teenagers and other people who find themselves in this problem? Are they playing their part as a church to evangelize and tell the good news to even that person who believes in abortion and pray that God will change their mind the same way God worked with them to become the people they are today? Or are they playing the "Holier then thou" game? I believe that God depends on His people to take charge of these problems locally through the church and not through the Presidents. Dr. James Dobson and others were lobbying votes for Bush in the Evangelical churches……are they really proud of where the country is today? We are so focus on labels today that we forget are purpose in life........ Rick can invite anybody he like at his church…….Jesus did not turn away anybody because he was the Son of God……..so being Chris-like is being a Christian and being a Christian is loving and praying for everyone.
