Bedouin Darkness Spreads With Oil Money

Submitted by Scott Baker, Nov 29, 2007 14:14

On the one hand, one could hope that all this foreign investment in our companies by Greater Arabia would finally convince them that their interests are aligned with ours - i.e. greater democracy, growth of responsible capitalism, greater human rights to unlease the potential in all human beings (bombmakers and jihadists excepted). On the other hand, if so much money is still being channeled to madrasas and other counter-civilization institutions, it's clear the message hasn't sunk in yet. Perhaps if Citicorp gets bombed - as has almost happened on at least one occassion - the arabs will realize they have skin in the game. Then they can direct some of those petrodollars - which, after all, came from Americans - toward educating their people to be productive and not destructive.
