There is a very popular satirist Mikhail Jvanetsky in Russsia. He wrote:

I'm living in Moscow for 7 years, my parents lives in Chelyabinsk, and my kinfolks lives in different parts of Russia. I think what I know Russia well, but then I'm reading american papers I don't recognizing Russia.

American independent mass media it is nothing else but incompetent brainwash.
