Bin Laden Urges Europe To Stop Aiding America

Submitted by Scott Baker, Nov 30, 2007 11:49

Bin Laden figures, correctly, that America is more a threat to the Taliban than to him. Therefore, he is trying to ease the pressure on the Taliban, who, remember, sheltered him in Afghanistan even to the point of their own destruction. Now, the Taliban are back with a vengence and stand a good chance of assuming power in BOTH Afghanistan and Pakistan. Europe is doing much of the heavy lifting through NATO in Afghanistan now and Bin Laden understands that the U.S. is unlikely to ever catch him, so why not do what he can to redirect the pressue of the Taliban and toward him? Also, he hopes to win the hearts and minds of the Afghanis - something we are rapidly losing with our indiscriminate bombing.
