Fire Patrol Members Face End of 200-Year Run

Submitted by Kenneth Smith, Nov 30, 2007 13:24

I am writing this a little more than a year after the Patrol closed. Even though the closure came about has anyone or any organization continued to try to get the Fire Patrol House's re-opened. Ms. Melchioni's comments as to how useless and a waste of money the Patrol was show's how out of touch bean counters are. Instead of closing it should have been expanded. If 3 houses could save 100 million dollars how much would 10 house's like the Patrol once had be able to save? Sure it might have cost 25million to run 10 houses even an expense of 25 million dollars is money well spent to save just the 100 million of the 3 house saves.
Desks and property were not the only thing saved JOB'S were saved. Working people can pay taxes and INSURANCE PREMIUMS. Bean counters are a greedy selfish lot because they think of everybody "except themselves as disposable, acceptable morbidity and mortality stats to be figured into a budget. That is until they become a fire victim. Really they are victims of their own computations.
