IFAR SCANDAL MADE PUBLIC
Reader comment on: Peering Into Pollock

(Associated Press) Recently, an owner of a Jackson Pollock painting submitted a fully cataloged, undisputed Pollock to the International Foundation for Art Research (IFAR). Yet, after six months of research, the picture was deemed "not by the hand of Jackson Pollock", according to the IFAR report. The reason for their decision: lack of provenance. However, the picture is cataloged in the Jackson Pollock Catalogue Raisonne by Eugene V. Thaw and Francis V. O'Connor. The owner decided to conduct this research to test the skills of IFAR, according to sources. Obviously, they have failed the test...or the Catalogue is wrong? You decide. The results will be published and distributed soon via the Associated Press.
