The Van Diepen Demarche

Submitted by chasli, Dec 4, 2007 09:50

The bottom line remains that if it's allright for Israel, Pakistan, and India to have nuclear weapons, it's allright for Iran to have them too. Why is this so difficult to comprehend? Either you are for non-proliferation or against it. Proliferation for you friends and not for your enemies is just not a constructive or effective way deal with the issue. After all our friends one day can be our enemies the next, and in any event our enemies are for sure someone else's friends. Again why is this so difficult for the Sun and many others to comprehend? Any day of the week I would worry more about a nuclear-armed Pakistan than a nuclear Iran. But oh I forgot we're not supposed to worry about Pakistan cause they are our friends.
