Colt is NOT a system QB!!! - Reader comments at The New York Sun

I've seen Colt Brennan all year in person for home games and watched every other game on TV - this guy is NOT a system QB! A system QB passes to spots and depends on timing patterns. Sure, Colt benefits from a coach and an offense that likes to pass, but the key difference is that the receivers make adjustments to routes based on the D which forces Colt to see the field and make accurate throws. If you see him in action, you notice how many receivers he's checking for match ups before the snap and how quickly he can scan and pick out the best option - THIS IS AN NFL QB!!!. His throw adjustments are FAR superior to Tebow who's closer to a "system" QB than Colt. As much as I loved Timmy Chang, Colt is the real deal. Just look at his lifetime accuracy and, more importantly, comeback wins when it matters. NFL scouts should be looking not only at the stats, but at the poise and leadership under pressure. This year's Hawaii team knew that they had a chance to do something special and other teams in this position would have folded in the close games that they faced. Watch out Georgia!!!
