I want to make something clear, lest I open myself up to charges of a sort of arrogance myself: It's not that $112,500 is all that much money these days, at least not in NYC with the taxes we're paying (and we have the City Council to thank for some of that.)It's not that a lawyer with his experience and connections isn't sacrificing a good deal of income by serving. It's just that knowing there are millions of New Yorkers getting by on much less, I find it outrageous that a man of Larry Seabrook's experience could make so impolitic a statement. It reeks of "Let 'em eat cake" elitism. I just hope the guy has the sense to stop crying poverty. By the way, "pipsqueak" was out of line. I'm sorry I wrote it.
