English has been by default the official language of America since it´s founding by our forefathers. When a vote was taken by the leaders of the day as to use English or Germany (population about 50/50 at the time) a German delegate did not attend the meeting and so English was chosen by 1 vote. Historical facts that can be checked out in the public library if one can read English. The German populace moans about it even today as they learn English in school as a mandatory second language.

American should have English as the official language, but, also I agree with Mr. Gulotta as Americans are way behind the rest of the world in learning languages. In Europe one must speak at least three languages to get around, but, English is the official Business Language along with German and French.

The way I see it the Europeans know more about what is going on in American in relation to business and politics than most of my fellow citizens who are too busy keeping up with the pop stars and entertainment industry. Hispanics should know English inside out as it would only help them obtaining better paying jobs and open many doors.
