Bush has been off his game for some time. The Baker-hamilton approach has been evident fior a good while. Bush has basically moved away from his moraly sound positions.

I am embarrassed to see this change. We have gone from supporting opposition groups in Iran and Syria to talking with the governments of Iran and Syria. This has turned out really well, as can be seen by the continuing troubles in Lebanon and the repression of opposition groups in Iran (Including unionists and students).

The situation in Iraq with Iran and Iraq seems to no better. While the Iraqi government and the Administration point to encouraging signs, the US military in the border areas say the infiltration continues.
