Thank you for offering honest and straightforward coverage of David Smith's tragic death. Too often incidents in which cyclists and pedestrians are killed by automobiles are reported as "accidents" (or "freak mishaps", as the NY Post titled this tragedy). Your article described this incident for what it was: the all-to-frequent result of a careless or reckless motorist acting within a city whose infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians is gravely inadequate.
