Mr Redden stated that "When looking at when our rights began, it's back to the Magna Carta." This is not completely true. The recognition of individual rights (to a minor degree) began with Magna Carta, but Man's rights were always part of the nature of Man. Governments do not grant rights to the individual; they recognize them, or should, if they are legitimate governments.
