I read with interest the comments of Luigi Tommasino concerning Pinocchio. To my understanding, the most popular Pinocchio in India is that from Russia by Alexej Tolstoy or that from USA by Walt Disney. The Russian book 'The story of the Burattino with the golden key', has been translated into Hindi in 1988. The Pinocchio from Walt Disney made of short simple stories can be found everywhere in India. We believe that these short Walt-Disney stories have contributed a lot in providing a frivolous puppet-image of Pinocchio. It is time to translate into Hindi the real Pinocchio from Collodi. I was impressed by this true Pinocchio through the movie by the Oscar winner Italian director: Benigni.

However, in India we have all the religions which exist on earth and we welcome just a secular Pinocchio.
