Dec 8 noon at City Hall- Caring New Yorkers rally with Council Member Avella who announce to introduce to City Council on Tuesday Dec 11th to ban horse-drawn carriages.

Please oppose both of council Member James Gennaro Intro 652 and 653 which increase rates of carriages rides and puts the cost burdens of the inspections on NYC tax payers.

ASPCA suppports bill to BAN NYC horse-drawn carriages.

Look at the Horses' eyes and you will see their misery and worse our own inhumanity reflected in their eyes.

In the 21st century, NYC streets are not meant for these horse drawn carriages. they ride alongside the yellow cabs, tour buses, cars and city buses for many hours. It is an unhealthy and an unnatural enviroment for these horses and it is a public hazard to New Yorkers.

Please contact Mayor Bloomberg and ask him to support this ban. It adds no revenue to New Yorkers and burdens the cost to NYC tax payers. The drivers need not worry about taxes since the industry is cash based. These horse-drawn carriage reflect poorly on NYC. Tourist do not fly to NYC specifically to ride these carriages. It does not help NYC tourism and in fact some tourist have stated they don't visit NYC because of these horse-drawn carriages.
