in response to reader comment: Thank G-d for Douglas Murray

About 6 mths ago I came across Douglas Murray on Question Time and couldn't believe what I was hearing; for once someone was speaking the truth, and in a concise and articulate manner without the false crowd pleasing tactics employed by many guests of such television programmes.

The fact that at times he was heckled, hissed or jeered at further encouraged me, as I believe many people in England are under the spell of liberalism, and there seems to be a shared naivety towards what is actually going on around this planet. Having said this, I believe that most of 'joe public' would agree with Mr Murray, and that in fact one of the biggest issues in England right now is that 'joe public' doesn't get represented. It seems that the main influences on government are small pressure groups representing liberalism or minorities; all well and good, but provided the rest of the nation doesn't get left out as is usually the case.

So many people in the UK feel that whether you vote for Labour or Conservatives, you will end up with more or less the same thing; politicians who never answer questions truthfully or directly, are more interested in covering mistakes rather than owning up to them and addressing them, and are more interested in listening to whoever shouts the loudest rather than the entire population they are supposed to represent. It has now reached a ridiculous stage where on radio and television a politician is asked a question and simply answers as though they are having an entirely different conversation. Its gone beyond being humorous. I find it obhorrent that there is such an apathy towards truth and directness. It stems from this false and dangerous ideal that we in the west are somehow guilty for the woes of the world and should go through some form of masochistic penance for our sins.

Douglas Murray is truly a breath of fresh air and I look forward to hearing more from him. I have read his book 'Neoconvervatism: Why We Need It' and it has encouraged me to hear someone speaking the truth. The problem in our politically correct culture is that the truth isn't liked. It reflects in all walks of life from family to work. Anyone who rocks the boat is considered to be a trouble maker. Its gone to the opposite extreme from fascism where anyone speaking the truth is labelled as being zenophobic, racist, or bigotted. It used to be the BNP that rightfully was subject to such concerns, but now it is anyone with an opinion on immigration or foreign policy that isn't rose tinted.

I could go on but I won't. Keep up the good work Douglas, there are many (and I would go so far as to say a majority) who are looking for reality, truth, and transparency.
