Lin Arisons book is a treasure. As an artist, I read many many art books-histories, biographies, monographs, reviews, etc. But this book I found especially appealing. It filled me in on many aspects of the artists" lives and did indeed make them come to life for me. The personal memoir is based on fact so it is a new twist on Impressionist history that had become too much the same story. The presentation is also beautiful-----slipcase, quality of paper, and amazing photographs by Neil Folberg. I shall send this as Christmas gifts to my artist and non-artist friends. They will all appreciate it. And, it will be a good addition to my art library.
