It's the fact that Lieberman is a mouthpiece for Bush/Cheney. Not even the Republican presidential candidates have been such forceful, vocal cheerleaders of the handling of the Iraq war and the war itself. He's to the right of Susan Collins his counterpart on the Homeland Security Committee in the US Senate!

Lieberman didn't go from moderate Dem to Independent. He moved to the right of some moderate Republicans. This war in Iraq - if it wasn't the center of the war on terror before, it sure is now. We've managed to involve and engate all kinds of terrorists who have made our servicemen targets because they don't think we belong in Iraq. We belong in Afghanistan trying to find Osama Bin Laden. Instead, we've pulled so many resources that the progress made there has been turned right back to the evil parts of the Taliban, Osama Bin Laden is still out there untouched, and we're losing "our war on terror."

If Lieberman advocates for this kind of incompetent, mismanagement Republicans beware. Hopefully birds of a feather won't flock together because Lieberman's by any means commitment to stick to your gut despite what the forecast looks like kind of leadership may be just the kind of leadership John McCain is serving up now that he's backing him. And what do we get with McCain as President and Lieberman as VP? Not a cross over ticket, but two fingers itching to hit the button for more war. God help us all.
