Likely Republican voters who participated in the last primaries. We had an incumbent President running against noone. The voters who participated in the primaries last time were only the hard core Bush fans. The estimate of 6% of registered Republicans is on the high side to me. That Dr. Paul is registering with 5% of that crowd is amazing seeing that he has been so critical of the War. Let's see what happens when the other 94% of Republicans vote.
Use some common sense here. Dr. Paul has raised $18.4 million this quarter. The so called front runner Mike Huckabee has raised $4.5 million this quarter. Fred Thompson's campaign tried to do a money bomb and they raised what...$60 thousand. Does it make any sense that Dr. Paul is raising 4 times more than the front runner and is not winning?
When you attend an event of each campaign you will see supporters. At Ron Paul events the crowds average about 1200 people. The other candidates are lucky to draw a 100 to 200 supporters and usually 25 to 50 of those are Dr. Paul supporters. He seems to have more supporters.
When you drive anywhere in the country, whose signs do you see more than all the other candidates combined? In Washington state, I see 100's of Ron Paul signs and I have only seen 1 Romney sign and nothing else.
Ron Paul wins almost every "non-scientific" poll. You know the polls where everyone can participate equally and one time only. He does struggle in the "scientific" polls that target an extremely small target group of 6% of George Bush supporters.
Ron Paul has won 25 of 48 straw polls. Another "unscientific" poll of supporters who had to get off their couch, get in their car, drive to the poll, pay money, and vote.
I feel if we go to a system where we call people on land line phones to decide the Presidency, Ron Paul does not stand a chance.
If we use a system where you have to get off your couch, get in your car, drive to the voting place, and vote one time only, Dr. Paul will win.
