Man Without a Party

Submitted by Jacob B., Dec 19, 2007 10:09

Essentially your article makes a huge assumption, that the polls are accurate. Dr. Paul's message appeals to a republican base that has in the past 8 years left the Republican party because quite simply the Republican Party left them.
There was a time Republican meant fiscally conservative, and although I supported Bush in both 2000, and 2004 it has become abundantly clear that the man can't balance a check book. There also was a time, which was the Bush platform in 2000 that we would not build nations, he also has since left that platform although it was the policy he used to win the primary, and later the election so to suggest the Republican part hasn't "Bought" the policy of non-interventionism, is simply wrong.
See what I love most about ignorant editorials like this is that people can find the facts out through numerous media sites.
Your analysis of his poll numbers is easily explained, as Dr. Paul has said, and any thinking person knows. Poll numbers are inaccurate because the dynamics of the poll is to attempt to poll "likely" Republican voters, when a qualifying question of the poll is "did you vote for bush in 2004?" it's not surprising that many of Dr. Paul's supporters are not being included in the poll, despite them being very Regan loving Republicans. Also many of his supporters are young, mainly cause he's the only candidate offering an outing for a failed social security system, which Bush also failed to correct despite promises made. They are not included in the polls because they were not able to vote in 2004.
And those MILLIONS of dollars raised, by a man named Trevor Lyman, who has NEVER before voted despite being in his early 30's he is not included in these polls.
What these polls attempt to do is to provide the Mass Media a tool to tell people who they are going to or should vote for. The media should not be in the business of choosing politicians but reporting on them. The media has recently seen a drastic decline in popularity both among American opinion of honesty, and their circulation for this very reason.
I look forward to the Primaries where I would expect we see an "amazing" upset though those of us which have remained informed despite the Media's best intentions of disseminating facts will remain far from shocked just as we were when we raised over 10 million dollars for Dr. Paul in two days.
Goals which you, and your cohorts also thought unachievable. I guess the question begs to be asked, how many time's does Ron Paul's campaign have to prove the Media wrong before they stop their slander? I guess many in the media think it better to report inaccurately, than to admit they had reported wrong.
Sincerely, An American, A Republican, And A Voter.
Jacob, God Bless Ron Paul, and God Bless America

p.s. you won't tell me who I vote for.
